Friendly environment lets performers hone their skills

Amateur musicians and singers of all ages are warmly welcomed to apply to take part in the sixth Horsham Performers Platform (fondly known as HPP), which runs from Saturday, June 20, until Saturday, June 27.

The annual festival has built a reputation for providing a friendly and safe environment to enable all comers to hone their performance skills at the same time as receiving feedback from a professional adjudicator.

There are no prizes to be competed for and every performer receives a certificate of participation.

Adjudicators are all members of the British and International Federation of Festivals and for 2015 HPP are pleased to welcome internationally and nationally renowned musicians Paul Harris (woodwind), Ben Costello (voice), Lorraine Deacon (strings) and Graeme Humphrey (piano).

The festival is held at St. John’s church in Broadbridge Heath but has already built links with other organisations to provide further performance opportunities throughout the year for HPP performers; one being with the National Trust at Leith Hill Place, which was the childhood home of the composer and founder of the festival movement Ralph Vaughan-Williams.

The syllabus for HPP 2015 is available online at www.horsham-performers-platform.co.uk.

Alternatively people can email the secretary Rachel Ellis at [email protected].

The closing date for all entries is April 27.
