Football pundits have their say

Controversial football pundits Richard Keys and Andy Gray will visit Worthing’s Pavilion Theatre on November 3 as part of their Live and Loud tour.

The duo are credited with being the driving force behind Sky Sports’ rise to football supremacy.

A spokesman said: “Richard Keys and Andy Gray, who have made easy banter and outspoken opinion an art form, will begin their Worthing show with an hour of anecdotes about their intertwining careers, which have spanned almost forty years in football, television and radio.

“They will later invite the audience to take part in a no-holds-barred Q&A session where the controversial double-act will attempt to answer any question asked of them.

“Richard Keys has almost thirty years’ experience as a television and sport presenter. In the 1980s he co-presented ITV’s TV-AM with Anne Diamond and commentated on football for the station. He is best-known for his time with Sky Sports from 1991 until 2011 where, along with Gray, he worked on over 1,000 games and became synonymous with the rise of premiership football throughout the world.

“Andy Gray scored 433 goals in a glittering football career that took him to Aston Villa, Wolves, Everton and many others. In 1978 he became the only player to be named PFA Young Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year until Cristiano Ronaldo won both awards 30 years later. After retiring from the game, Gray became a football commentator, pundit and analyst on Sky Sports and has been a key facet of its Premier League coverage since its inception in 1992.

“Football fans can step behind the microphones and interact with the famous duo for an evening of candid and contentious banter.”
