Comic Indian Takeaway

The Hawth continues with its bid to be a comedy hot spot with more laughs coming up.

Hardeep Singh Kohli returns to the Studio with Indian Takeaway, a mission to find the best Indian takeaway in the UK, on Friday, February 8 7.45pm.

Hardeep will order a takeaway live on stage for delivery to the theatre, having selected one from audience suggestions submitted via HardeepLive.com. He will then race against time to cook his own feast before the takeaway arrives. Along the way, he’ll be sharing recipe tips and stories of his shared Scottish and Indian heritage.

Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee 2012 James Acaster comes to the Studio on Saturday, February 9 at 7.45pm, with his show Prompt. Prepare yourself for flights of fancy, remarkable gesticulation and maybe even some tempo changes.

The Hormonal Housewives are back, and this time they mean business on Friday, March 22 at 7.30pm.Following their 2012 tour, the girls return with new sketches and the very best bits from last time round plus this time Toyah Willcox takes on a leading role.

The show looks at everything that makes today’s woman tick (or ticked off) – “from the joys of teenagers, to the hell of IKEA, the madness of holiday reps and the insanity of DIY.”

Saturday, May 11 at 7.45pm sees Daniel Bye examining The Price of Everything in the Studio. How much is beauty worth? What will people pay for an air guitar on eBay? Can I have a glass of milk? These questions and others are answered in a performance lecture about value, with bizarre facts and arguments.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company are back all the way from the USA with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised) on Tuesday, May 14 at 7.30pm. This irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays was London’s longest running comedy - ten years in the West End.
