Students’ artworks on show at Millais School

Millais School showcased the artwork of their GCSE students this week, with an exhibition in the school hall of their paintings, drawings, sculpture, and ceramic pieces.

The girls’ course work featured themes such as ‘Goddesses’ and ‘Food and Celebration’, and the show also included exam work on the subject of ‘Forces’.

Ms Conti, the Assistant Director of Learning for Creative and Expressive Arts, explained how the projects had been planned in conjunction with trips to various locations including Borough Market, The British Museum,

The V& A, and galleries in Paris, and that the students were given the opportunity to use a wide range of materials and techniques.

The exhibition was visited by Year 6 pupils from local schools who were invited to view, copy from, and write about the work.

Parents, students, staff and governors were invited to a special private view on Wednesday June 12 to celebrate the pupils’ fantastic artistic achievements.
