They say variety is the spice of life, but it comes in no more a tantalising flavour than at the Best Western Beachcroft Hotel.

And it does it with enormous flair, professionalism, fun and style.

Don’t just take my word for it - the string of awards with which it has been honoured in the past 12 months alone speak volumes for its attention to detail, its quality cuisine, and its determination to provide the very best service.

These accolades include Trip Advisors Certificate of Excellence for 2014 - awarded to the top ten per cent of hotels around the world - and the Expedia Customer Services Award.

That success is reflected in the loyalty of the staff.

Restaurant manager Lucas Sanocki - who welcomed us when we came to sample the menu as a family last Monday - said he had been there for some ten years.

In an industry blighted by a fast turnover of staff, that’s a huge achievement and underpins the real family philosophy of managing director Robert Warham.

That eye for detail is mirrored in an ever evolving programme of events to ever exceed customers expectations, with a kids eat free offer proving especially popular during our half term visit.

The Beachcroft, of course, as its name suggests, is not just about the hotel itself.

Its location, literally beside the seaside, is absolutely stunning.

You might think that the combination of superb cuisine - under head chef Tony Bazley and sous chef James Brown - great service and a fabulous location all endorsed with the Best Western quality brand, would come at a high price.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Despite a half a million pound investment since Robert acquired the hotel in 2005 - which has resulted in its customer base and turnover grow by more than 90 per cent - delivering value is the cornerstone of everything it does.

Where else could you get a Sunday roast of this calibre served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a selection of fresh vegetables for just £8.95?

And when you buy a starter with a Sunday main they are just £3.75 - with the same deal applying to desserts.

All topped off with great personal service and a fabulous wine list.

The a la carte dinner menu when we visited was £26.95 for three courses including coffee.

The selection, like everything about the hotel, is packed with variety to suit all tastes - and for every dish there is an indication of whether it is gluten free, vegetarian, or a healthy option.

For starters we sampled the chicken liver parfait, the tropical prawn cocktail, the melon kiwi and strawberry cocktail, and the assiette of hors d’oeuvres.

We followed it with the sauteed pork loin steak, the rump of lamb, and the grilled fillet of salmon.

Our meal concluded with a vanilla pacacotta with fresh passion fruit, homemade banoffee pie, and a simply amazing cheese board.

And the verdict of our party?

The desserts were a huge hit; the salmon was grilled to perfection; and the pork loin steak was a triumph.

More than that, everyone felt they had eaten like royalty, with generous portions and great table service.

So whether you are looking for a wedding venue, a place to hold a corporate meeting, a chance to taste a little jazz in blissful surroundings, or you just want a great meal out with friends and family - put the Beachcroft at the top of your list.
