New drama academy

A NEW drama academy launches at Steyning Grammar School on Saturday mornings from October this year.

Spokesman Neil Hopson said: “Ariel Drama Academy is an independent drama academy for students seven to 19, dedicated to training young actors in the core fundamental skills required to become an actor.

“We strive to create a centre of excellence in each of our core disciplines, whilst always maintaining a key sense of fun through learning and a genuine passion for our pupils to thrive. We offer a broad curriculum on the three core areas; drama, dance and singing.

“Due to the high demand and the long waiting list at our other schools, we are branching into Steyning, which seemed a natural progression, as we are both ex-Steyning Grammatarian’s ourselves.”

Neil added: “Students from our academy have received a top national lifetime honour for outstanding selfless contribution to their communities though our work with students with special needs. We are proud to hold the Lady Diana Award for Excellence and we continue to be recognised in the industry for our work in this area.

“Our students have won the Billy Elliot Youth Project and performed in the West End last year. To add to our diversity, we provide many of the actors you see at Tully’s Farm at their October Fright Night.

“Ariel’s Steyning Academy will be opening on October 1 and we are proud to be using Steyning Grammar School in this new, exciting venture. We are already accepting many applications for the new academy, so a waiting list will be highly likely. So that you know more about us and how we work, we are offering pupils a free taster session on October 1.”
