Mid Sussex Brass Band marks 30 years with Burgess Hill concert

Members of the Mid Sussex Brass Band are looking forward to their 30th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, July 16, at St Andrews Church, Burgess Hill.

Band secretary Paul Homewood said: “At 4pm past members, friends and supporters of the band are warmly invited to see displays of photographs showing the current youth and senior band.”

The pictures also show the musicians’ predecessors, the Haywards Heath Town and Burgess Hill Brass Bands that combined in 1986.

Paul continued: “During the afternoon there will be the chance for past members to join with current members and play familiar easy pieces in a relaxed atmosphere.

“They also have a chance to talk to current members and enjoy some refreshments.

“At 7.30pm both our current senior and youth bands will be performing a concert comprising our current repertoire.

“Admission is free-of-charge and there will be a raffle and retiring collection.”

The band are always on the lookout for new members.
