Chi-Signs Festival this weekend

On the back of three Chi-Signs albums, Chichester writer and musician Sean BW Parker has put together the Chi-Signs Festival at Chichester’s Chichester Inn on July 4.

“It’s a festival combining with the idea of the Chi-Signs album series,” Sean explains. “We have just done Chi-Signs III. It came out about a month ago.

“I started about six months ago, around Christmas time. The first album was all Chichester artists. The first album was ten tracks. Chi-Signs II was much longer and was a combination of Chichester people and people from London. Chi-Signs III was a couple of Chichester artists and a lot of Londoners. That’s the reason it is now coming to an end – because we couldn’t really justify calling it Chi-Signs anymore!”

The festival will kick off at midday and run until late, with Sean lining up ten acts. Fellow musician Mike Fry will be compering: “We have got Pondlife from Southampton, and we have got the Wrong ‘Uns, a Chichester-based band or with a Chichester reputation. Ettuspadix is also coming.

“The idea is a physical combination of the album series and to get together everyone who is interested in doing it.”
