Band host swing night

The Ron Green Big Band will be at the Leconfield Hall in Petworth on Saturday, October 29 for what they promise will be a great evening of swing and big band music recalling memories of the great bands of the 1930s and 1940s such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Duke Ellington and Count Basie.

Spokeswoman Juliet Fynes said: “The Ron Green Big Band was formed some five years ago and has gradually gained a growing reputation, playing at venues all around West Sussex as well as occasional appearances at events in Surrey and Hampshire. Their last visit to the Leconfield Hall was in September, 2009 for a very successful concert which led to many requests to the Hall trustees for the band to be invited back.

“The concert will commence at 7.30pm, with the doors being open from 7pm. There will be a licensed bar, and tickets costing £10 will be on sale at Art, Craft & Fabric of Petworth or at the door on the night.”
