Award-winner is Open Mic headline guest

Award-winner Susan Utting is the headline guest at Open Mic Poetry in the New Park Centre on Wednesday February 26, when Chichester audiences will be treated to her unique blend of insight and entertainment.

Susan has performed her poetry at festivals and arts venues across the UK, including Edinburgh and Aldeburgh as well as being awarded a Creative Writing Fellowship by Reading University. Her poetry has been included in anthologies from Poems on the Underground to Seren’s celebration of Bob Dylan, The Captain’s Tower. Following a Poetry Business Prize pamphlet, Something Small is Missing, and first collection, Striptease, (Smith/Doorstop Books) her latest collections from Two Rivers Press are Houses Without Walls and Fair’s Fair.

I caught her reading recently at Petersfield’s Write Angle and was instantly impressed with the quality of her work. Awards for her writing include the Peterloo Prize, Academi Cardiff Prize and an Arts Council Laureateship. I’m sure our audiences will find much to savour and enjoy in her poems.”

Susan Utting’s poems have been published in The Times, TLS, Independent and the Forward Book of Poetry. Following Susan’s reading, Chichester poets will get the chance to shine in the open mic section of the evening.
