A TEENAGER has been charged with attempted murder in relation to an attack in which a man was stabbed several times in Worthing.
Stephen Best, 19, from Morris Way, West Chiltington, appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court on Monday (July 21) charged with attempted murder and GBH (grievous bodily harm) with intent.

He did not enter a plea.

The charges relate to an assault which happened in Forest Road, Worthing, on April 18, in which a man was stabbed several times in the arm and back.

Prosecutor Catherine Davies told the court how Best and another man were travelling in cars in opposite directions along Forest Road at around 8.50pm.

No collision occurred, but both cars were forced to stop and the two men got into an argument in the street.

The alleged victim, who suffered "very serious" stab wounds, was taken to Worthing Hospital where he was kept for four days.

Best spoke only to confirm his name, age and address at the court hearing.

He was refused bail and was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 11.
