SATURDAY

WALK: Oct 29. All welcome, Wepham Down, 6½ mile circular downland sociable HDC Health Walk, some hills, good views of some of the finest parts of the downland landscape. Free, just turn-up at Kithurst Hill car park (off the Storrington to Amberley road) TQ 070125 at 8.30am. Dogs allowed on a lead. 2¾ hours. Mick 01903 745971.

SUNDAY

CAT Homing Show and Fundraising Sale, Oct 30, 11am - 3pm in Broadbridge Heath Village Centre, Wickhurst Lane, Broadbridge Heath, Horsham, RH12 3LY. This will be an opportunity for the public to meet the cats looking for new homes. Also fundraising stalls with many gift ideas, greeting cards, soft toys and collectables to buy. Also cat carriers, scratching posts and other accessories available. There will be refreshments available. Entry is free, but a donation of cat food greatly appreciated.

COUNTRY and Western Charity Dance in aid of the Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance at Broadbridge Heath Village Centre, Wickhurst Lane, Oct 30, 7.30-10.30pm. Dance to West Country Band, large dance floor, free car park, raffle and bar. Tickets £6 on the door. For information phone 01903 751267.

HORSHAM & District Horticultural Society: Overcoming Threat and Disease To Our Native Plants will be the subject of an illustrated talk by Andrew Gaunt from Government Department FERA. BEEDING and Bramber Local History Society meets in the Village Hall, High Street, Upper Beeding, 7.45pm, Nov 2, when Helen Poole will give a talk on ‘Sussex and the Napoleonic War’. Non-members are welcome to attend for £2. Free parking. Refreshments available.

WILDLIFE Walkabouts, Nov 3, 10am-noon at RSPB Pulborough Brooks nature reserve, Wiggonholt, Pulborough. Our regular gentle ramble is an ideal introduction to the reserve and its varied habitats and wildlife.
