WALK: Oct 21. All welcome, just turn-up at car park at Southwater Country Park (off Cripplegate Lane) TQ 161258 at 11am. Easy flat circular, guided, free sociable HDC Walk along bridleways, lanes and the Downs Link. Café open in the Park at the end. 2½ miles, 1 hour. Pat 01403 240654.

AUTUMN Fair & Optics Weekend, RSPB Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve, Wiggonholt, Pulborough, 10am-4pm. Join us over this weekend when the Visitor Centre and reserve open up to welcome a host of exhibitors, stallholders and local crafts-people. Take the opportunity to browse for an unusual gift, sample some local fare, join a guided walk and get involved in one of the many activities. FIREWORKS Display, Oct 22, at Jubilee Fields Sports Fields, Billingshurst. The Bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm followed by the fireworks at 8pm. Entrance to the site will on foot, no cars, via either the main entrance off the A272, or over the footbridge leading from the Coombe Hill area of the Village. Tickets £5 per adult, £4 per child under 14, same as last year, though advance tickets are available at a number places in the Village at 50p off, which, for a family of four represents a saving of £2. RUSPER Art Group 41st Annual Art Exhibition at Rusper Village Hall, Oct 22, 10am to 5pm. Original paintings in all media, drawings, photography; school and playgroup work. Teas, coffees, lunches. Proceeds to local charities. Admission free.

THE Copsale Hall Jumble Sale is back, Oct 22, 2pm. Bric a brac, clothes, furniture, toys and much much more. If you would like to donate any jumble please drop it at the hall from Thursday, Oct 20, after 11am. All proceeds to the upkeep and maintenance of the well used 100 year old hall.
