BILLINGSHURST Bowling Club open evening, May 27, for new members 6-8pm. Find us behind the ‘old’ cricket field in Station Road - access also via Myrtle Lane (down the public footpath and turn right). TEA Dance: Join your hosts Margaret and Colin and dance the afternoon away to recorded Ballroom and Latin American music, “Strictly Come Dancing” style at the Southwater Leisure Centre, Pevensey Road, Southwater (off Cedar Drive), May 27, 1.30-3.45pm. FRIENDS of Orchard Surgery Plant Sale and Coffee Morning at the Unitarian Church Hall, Worthing Road, Horsham (opposite bus station), May 28, 10am-noon. Plants, raffle, gift stall, bric-a-brac, cakes and books. All proceeds/donations towards the purchase of equipment for patients. Everyone welcome.

JUMBLE sale raising funds for a new heating system at Holy Innocents Parish Church in Southwater. Saturday May 28, 2-4pm at the Scout HQ, Church Lane. Come and help us raise £30,000!

THE Shipley Village Festival, which includes the Annual Art & Pottery Exhibition in the village hall and flower displays in St Mary’s Church, will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend, May 28-30, 11am-5pm. There will be a Village Day on Monday 30th May with stalls, sideshows and other attractions.

WALK: May 28: All welcome, 4.6 mile hilly circular sociable HDC Health walk past Windlesham School over Barnsfarm Hill along the South Downs Way. Free, just turn-up at 2pm at Chantry Post car park (TQ 087119). Dogs allowed on a lead. 1¾ hours. Mick 01903 745971.

BROADBRIDGE Heath Cricket Club are holding an Inter-Village Mixed Stoolball Tournament between Broadbridge Heath Football Club, Broadbridge Heath Tennis Club, The Shelley Arms & Broadbridge Heath Cricket Club, May 30. The fun starts at 10.30am at the Cricket Club in Byfleets Lane. All day bar with barbecue. Please come and support this local event. Entry is free.
