IN A memorable lecture to Steyning Decorative and Fine Arts Society in 2007, Christopher Bradley revealed fascinating facts, as far as they could be known, about the Queen of Sheba - who she might have been, where she came from and the glories of artists’ picturing of her meeting with King Solomon. At the society’s meeting on Jan 9 you can expect similar revelations from his lecture “Three Wise Men: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh - the Traditions of the Magi’. Visitors are welcome to the lecture (donation £5) at the Steyning Centre by Fletchers Croft car park opposite the church. The business of the lecture begins at 10.30am after coffee which is served from 10am.

TRANSITION Horsham is a group of volunteers following the ideas and vision of the Transition Towns movement set up in Totnes in 2006. This grass roots organisation believe in encouraging flexibility and resiliance in response to climate change, peak oil and economic shocks. It is all about building up community networks, sharing and learning new skills, cutting carbon emissions, eliminating waste and travelling lightly on the planet. We have talks and workshops, projects such as Community Energy, Stitch Up, Garden Share, Seedy Saturday and Swap Shop. We have Green Movies, Green Drinks and Green Readers.
