Murder with a touch of comedy

THE Cissbury Players becomes the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society to perform a Murder Mystery.

Felicity (Max Jones), Audrey (Barbara Maxwell, in her debut for the Players and first-ever stage appearance), Mrs Reece (Sam Merrick) and Thelma Greenwood (Ann Burfoot) are joined on stage by their stage manager Gordon Pugh (Dave Holden).

Dave explains: “In this hilarious farce, written by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jnr., Sir Reginald Bishop’s family gather for the reading of his last will and testament.

“But, as things go from bad to worse, a series of mysterious murders are not the only unexpected events, with which they have to contend. The play serves as a testament to coarse acting and also supplies a timely warning regarding chess players!”

Tickets, priced at £7.50, are available from Peckham’s the Butchers, High Street, Findon, or can be reserved, for collection on the door, by ringing 07540 835565.

The play runs from July 18-20 at Findon Village Hall, curtain up 7:45pm. Parking is limited, so arrive in good time. More details can be found by visiting www.cissburyplayers.net.
