The Hawth in Crawley has announced that The Gordon Campbell Big Band will perform in the theatre on Sunday, April 2.

The concert starts at 3pm.

Featuring the trombone skills of Gordon Campbell, the band will celebrate the music of the greatest Big Bands and, in particular, the sound of the Tommy Dorsey Big Band.

Gordon Campbell is considered one of the country’s leading trombone players.

He is the lead-trombone for the John Wilson Orchestra and the BBC Big Band – a position he has held since 1984.

The band will be joined on stage by guest vocalists Clare Teal and Matthew Ford.

Radio 2 broadcaster Clare is an accomplished singer who regularly tours the UK and holds the accolade of achieving the biggest ever recording contract of a British jazz singer.

Award-winning vocalist Matthew Ford, widely regarded as the finest big band singer in the UK, will be performing a selection of Frank Sinatra classics.

Organisers say this concert will be a rare opportunity to see a fantastic band perform live. Early booking is advised.

Tickets cost £15 (discounts £14.50) from The Hawth Box Office on 01293 553636.
