Burgess Hill Choral Society is looking for new recruits for the New Year.

Spokeswoman Frances Eales said: “Do you enjoy singing? We do, and we are always on the lookout for enthusiastic people to join our choir. Whether you’re an experienced singer or have always wanted to join a choir, why not come along to a few rehearsals to see if it’s for you?

“There is no joining audition, and the choir includes people who have been singing for years, as well as complete novices. Whatever your background, you can be sure of a warm welcome from a very friendly bunch of people.

“We’re lucky enough to sing under the musical direction of Michael Stefan Wood, who has received a BEM for his services to music in the local community. Mike makes the rehearsals enjoyable and leads the choir to performances of a high standard where we sing with professional soloists and musicians.

“This term we are preparing for our spring concert where will be singing one of the great pieces of choral music, The Creation by Josef Haydn. If you would like to know more, visit our website at www.burgesshillchoralsociety.org.uk or phone 07702 318335. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 8pm to 10pm at the United Reformed Church hall, Burgess Hill. New members are welcome any Monday in January.”
