Diverse range of folk from popular band

Arundel’s Willows Folk Club is promising an evening of stunning musicianship as they welcome Sixfifteen as their special guests on Wednesday, July 9.

Spokesman Chris Davis said: “Undeniably one of the biggest names on the local acoustic music scene in Sussex and the south, Sixfifteen are heralded wherever they appear for their diverse mixture of songs and styles and for their blistering musicianship. Skilfully interweaving bluegrass, blues, jazz, folk, acoustic rock and funk, the band have a hard-hitting sound that is rich in colour and exciting to watch and listen to.

“Comprising members of the bands Superstrings, Laughing Gravy and The Blue Coconut Orchestra, Sixfifteen take their combined musical backgrounds and weave it into something all their own, with powerful vocals and virtuoso acoustic guitar, mandolin, and electric bass.

“The band already have a big following as a trio, and in recent times have expanded into a four-piece to include fine dobro work, adding a whole new sonic texture to their sound. The local music scene is fortunate to have such a fine band based here in Sussex!”

Entrance is £4.. The Willows Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 7.45pm (doors open 7.30pm) in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel. For more information about the club, visit www.willowsfolkclub.org or call 07790 511054.
