More than 300 guests attended Sedgwick Park House last Friday for the inaugural Horsham Artists in Action event.

Artists were able to present their work in displays in the Great Hall and the ballroom, with some of the guests purchasing the likes of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and knitted items.

Cllr Jonathan Chowen (Con, Cowfold, Shermanbury and West Grinstead), who is the Cabinet Member of Arts, Heritage and Leisure, gave a speech praising the efforts of the artists.

The chairman of Horsham District Council Philip Circus (Con, Chanctonbury) was also in attendance alongside his wife Gaenor.

The show, which served as a preview for Horsham Artists in Action, continued over the weekend.

On Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, 28 artists will open their homes, studios and group venues in the Horsham area to the public to discuss and display their work.
