Admirers of Virginia Woolf’s writing have the chance to find out more about the novelist’s distinctive style.

Sarah Phillips MA is speaking on her published work, Virginia Woolf as a ‘Cubist Writer’, for the National Trust, East Sussex.

The lecture takes place at Monks House, Rodmell Village Hall, on Friday, July 4, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

There are clear similarities between the experimental and modernist style of Woolf’s writing and the designs and ideas of the avant-garde Cubist movement, which was founded in Paris, in 1907, by Picasso and Braque.

The talk aims to illustrate a way of reading Woolf, which illuminates the ideas of Cubism.

Tickets cost £10 (including a glass of wine).
