THREE young actors from Horsham are celebrating great results from their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams.

Lawrence Schofield, Jess Emens and Evelyn Turner are taking the LAMDA course at Ariel Company Theatre’s Crawley Academy.

They were part of a group of eight academy pupils, all of whom passed the latest round of exams.

Lawrence, ten, from Reynard Close, said: “The teachers are brilliant.

“There is so much variety - comedy, serious drama, musicals, mime, dance, singing - and I’ve made masses of friends.

“I really look forward to my three hours at Ariel every Saturday morning.”

Abigail Paige, principal of Ariel’s Crawley Academy, said: “We’re delighted with our Lamda results, and all the students feel so proud of their achievement.

“These exams really help to improve our young actors, to prepare them for auditions, or just increase their confidence.”

The Academy’s 100th student joined last month, and staff plan to enrol more students soon.

Academy director Nicci Hopson said: “We have been providing the LAMDA syllabus for over seven years and hold extremely high results across all our schools, and we owe this to our incredibly gifted tutor Mr James Hadden.”

Ariel has academies in Crawley, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Steyning.
