A COLOURFUL exhibition of contemporary art is decorating the walls of Billingshurst Community and Conference Centre this month.

Students of an art group in Partridge Green have chosen a selection of their landscape and still life paintings to go on display at the centre in Roman Way.

The artists, from a range of backgrounds including a graphic designer, a fashion designer, a textile artist and weaver and teachers, attend the art course run by Emily Ball at Seawhite Studios, Partridge Green.

Paddy Bailie, on behalf of the artists, said: “Collectively they are on a journey to push their chosen media and subjects to the limit, to look at the world in a different way and to encourage the viewer to examine familiar scenes and objects with fresh eyes and with a new understanding.’’

Admission is free and the exhibition is now open until November 30.

Check the opening times by telephoning the centre on 01403 787690.
