STAR TREK legend Marina Sirtis has beamed into the Horsham district.

On Tuesday, she was at Wiston House near Steyning, acting in the political psychological thriller, '31 North 62 East'.

She has been a familiar face on prime time TV for many years, playing the role of Counsellor Deanna Troi in the long-running sci-fi series, 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'.

Ms Sirtis, who lives in Los Angeles, arrived in the district fresh from a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. She started shooting on Monday and will remain on set for two weeks.

"It's nice to come home and work here as opposed to in the States," she told wscountytimes.co.uk.

TV hard man Craig Fairbrass, who played EastEnders villain Dan Sullivan in the popular BBC TV soap, was also on set.

He is playing head of special operations Paul Anderson.
