DEVASTATED animal lovers have called for urgent action after a string of suspected cat killings.

The RSPCA and police have launched a major investigation after three cats were the victims of a spate of anti freeze poisonings in Southwater.

Pet owners have been told to be extra vigilant amid RSPCA warnings that the deaths may have been part of a deliberate and premeditated attack by a cat-hater.

A careful search for the source of the anti freeze has begun.

Julia Freeston's beloved Bengal cross Rufus was one of the animals in the Cowslip Close area of Southwater that drank the lethal liquid and later died from the poisoning.
