VIDEO: Sussex v Notts Day 1

SUSSEX skipper Mike Yardy believes his side can draw inspiration from Ed Joyce's superb century against Nottinghamshire.

Sussex were 144-7 before Ollie Rayner and then Corey Collymore offered stubborn support to Joyce who compiled a stylish 183.

Joyce fell 17 runs short of his double century when adjudged leg before to the part time bowling of Adam Voges.

Skipper Yardy believes Joyce's score can spur his men on. "Ed played a fntastic innings it was oe of the best we have seen in the championship, we were up against it, he said."

"First and foremost we have to make sure we build momentum tomorrow morning."
