VIDEO: ‘We didn’t do enough to win’ Hornets boss admits

Horsham manager Simon Colbran was left somewhat underwhelmed by his side’s performance in drawing 1-1 away at Walton & Hersham last night (Tuesday).

The hosts, who went into the match on a wretched run of form, were the better side for much of the first half and took the lead just before half time when striker and captain Graeme Purdy nodded in a Liam Collins cross at the back post.

In minus temperatures Walton & Hersham came close to doubling their lead at the start of the second half when Collins slammed a shot onto the post with Hornets keeper Michael Hunter well beaten.

Horsham though were level on 54 minutes when, from a corner Glen Woodburn looped a fine header into the net for his first goal for the club.

And Horsham did improve from there and in the 90th minute Tony Nwachukwu missed a glorious chance to snatch all three points when he headed Billy-Joe King’s free kick wide of goal from six yards out.
