Toby retains golf championship crown
DEFENDING champion Toby Tidy fired a 36 hole total of 127 to win the Horsham Golf and Fitness Club Championship by nine strokes.
Tidy's scratch score of 127 was comfortably clear of Mark Benney on 138 and Ron Waddell on 147 in third.
The Men's 36 hole nett competition was won by Gary Cockram on 112, followed closely by the effervescent, Terry Robinson and in third place was Des Kefford on 121.
Ladies Club Champion was Sandra Benney, who won comfortably on 155, with runner-up Joan Davies on 171.
The Ladies Club Net Champion was Janet Exler on 127, with ever improving Margaret Brice the runner-up on 132.
Kieran Benney's nett 128 won him the junior championship, ahead of Amber Cockram who was snapping at his heels with 129. James Hedges won the Junior 36 Scratch competition with 178.
