Storrington suffered from another slow start and failed to recover as they crashed out of the John O’Hara League Cup on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat at AFC Uckfield.

Swans changed a few things for the game, giving debuts to Aiden Enticknapp on the left, and Darren Ford in goal, who after unavailability is their third keeper in four games.

The visitors began sluggishly and found themselves two down in the first ten minutes. The players got to grips with the game after that, especially Aaron Meehan and Chris Watton in the middle of the pitch, who started to take control, a

On 14 minutes Meehan hit a great left-footed strike into the bottom right hand corner to get Swans back in the game.

And five minutes later he nearly had another with a similar strike with his right which the home keeper saved. Both sides had chances before the break, although overall the defences were tight and by half-time Swans were right back in the game.

The visitors played some decent football in the second half at times and put plenty of pressure on the Uckfield goal, although their pressure could not force the goal to take them to extra-time.

Uckfield were playing on the break and with Swans committing men forward the hosts sealed victory in the 93rd minute.

Swans: Ford; Davis, Rhodie, Elliott, Pickford; Watton, Meehan, Jarvie, Humphreys; Setchell, Enticknapp. Subs: Cockerton, Naylor, Garrott.
