Stratton's men have something to prove in twenty20 showdown at Horsham

BILLINGSHURST captain Scott Stratton believes his side will have something to prove when they face his former side Horsham at Cricketfield Road on Sunday.

But while Horsham skipper Alan Law says upsets are possible in the short form of the game he has promised his players will be fully focused on getting the job done.

The sides meet in the quarter finals of the Gray Nicholls Twenty20 Cup, and having been convincingly beaten by their Sussex Premier hosts in the same competition last season, Stratton is hoping to upset the odds.

"We played them last year and they completely smashed us," he said.

"There was such a gulf in the sides so we have got some work to do to.

"We have been in good form recently and their form has not been that great so you never know."

"I love the place and love batting out there, I had some good times there but now I've moved on and I will do all I can to bring Horsham down."

Horsham booked their place in the last eight of the competition with a win over Middleton which saw Sam Attfield follow his century on Saturday with 54, while Michael Thornely returned to form with 44.

Skipper Alan Law said: "It's Twenty20 cricket as we saw in the World Cup (where Holland beat England) anyone can beat anyone, that's the beauty of the game.

"But we will be taking nothing for granted. We know what they have go but we also know our own strengths and we will be going in fully prepared to get stuck in."

Horsham will be looking for back-to-back wins in the league on Saturday when they take on East Grinstead at home, while Billingshurst can continue their unbeaten season by avoiding defeat against Ifield.
