Billy Twelvetrees has been named as Gloucester captain ahead of the 2014-15 Aviva Premiership season.

The former Pulborough and Horsham player, from Wisborough Green, will take the armband for his third season at the club.

The 24 year-old England centre stepped up from vice-captain to take the armband for part of last term, during the absence of Tom Savage.

Twelvetrees said: “It is an honour to take the role of club captain of this great club.

“I’ve had the honour to have represented two of England’s greatest clubs in Leicester Tigers and the Cherry and Whites and to now have the privilege to captain Gloucester is something I dreamt of.”
