There’s more to come from Horsham says coach

Horsham RUFC coach Nick Stocker has called on his side to raise their game further in order to get to the next level.

A 24-7 defeat of Park House last weekend saw Horsham keep in touch with the leading pack in London 3 South East, as three tries in the final 20 minutes sealed the win.

And although happy with the result, Stocker has called on his troops to be more ‘self critical’.

He said: “I’m happy with the five point bonus win, however I have to say we took some time to get going. We seem to play down to our opponents which has been a trait of Horsham in the past. We raise our game against the strong teams but seem to drop down to the level of the teams on paper we should be comfortably beating. We have to play our own game. But we are just four points off the top and three off second and third and that’s absolutely great. I’m happy but I feel there’s so much more to come and if we play like we can we’ll be a match for anybody in this league. The league is fraught with challenges every week so we have to be self critical and ask for more from ourselves if we are to rise to the level a lot of the players want to be at.”
