Rugby: Holbrook fightback thwarted by resilient Hove

A second half fightback from Holbrook RFC fell short in a 12-10 loss to Hove III in Sussex Division 1 on Sunday.

An experienced Hove went in front early from driving maul after a five metre lineout, and extended the advantage through a penalty try when Holbrook wing Matt Sprigge was adjudged to impeded the Hove attack.

But Holbrook remained confident as the weather conditions and light deteriorated, and Ben Wells was released by a neat ball along the line, while George Heron touched down after a lineout drive for unconverted scores.

Hove, however, dug deep to hold on to the two point advantage.
