Horsham RUFC’s under-13s are through to the Sussex 1 final after a 24-5 defeat of Chichester.
After Joe Humphreys went close and the forward trio of Jonathan Stanway, Max Wright and Oscar Quigley made gains, Max Paterson scampered in for the opening try. Horsham kept the pressure on thanks to pinpoint kicking from skipper Joe Blake while further scores came a result of tirless carrying from Simon Powell and Vince Everitt in the second half.
Chichester responded with their best move of the day to get on the scoresheet, but Joe Blake insisted on having the final word, with a converted last-minute try. After the match, head coach Dayle Kirby said: “It was a competent performance against determined opposition.”
