HORSHAM RUGBY Club is preparing for a Twickenham date on Saturday.
The Green and Whites’ under-12s booked their place at the Parade of Champions at English Rugby headquarters with a win in the Harlequins Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup. And now they will be presented as regional champions to a sell out crowd of 82,000 during the Premiership Final between Leicester and Harlequins.
Horsham beat Sussex rivals Heathfield in the final in November, and captain Joe Blake can’t wait.
He said: “It was a great day at the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, the competition was tough which made winning really special for me and the team. It was exciting to get our trophy from a Premiership Rugby player too! I am really looking forward to going to Twickenham and can’t wait to see the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final and be a part of the Parade at half-time!”
The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is part of Land Rover’s ongoing support for grassroots rugby.
The tournament, which began in 2008, is officiated by Premiership Rugby and run in conjunction with all 12 Premiership Clubs. Through this, more than 33,000 aspiring young players take part in under 11 and under 12 festivals all over the country.
