They clinched a 57-14 bonus-point win over Ashford on Saturday which saw them maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table.

Pulborough make the long, crunch trip to Thanet Wanderers on Saturday, who sit a place below them in the table and have been pushing them all season.

They then follow that up by hosting Folkestone and travelling to Park House, before a Sussex derby with Lewes at Freelands on the final day of the season.

Burfiend said: “We are now into the business end of the season. With four games remaining and three of which being against the top-five, every game is now a must-win.

“The biggest of which being Thanet Wanderers this weekend. We have been gearing up for this match since Christmas really and have everything in place to make the long trip east and come out on top.

“The club are putting on a big coach for supporters and players.

“As mentioned in previous weeks our strength in depth has been a real key to our success this season. Jack Leddra and Henry Lee coming back into the side after lengthy injuries helped boost all three sides.”

On the Ashford victory, the captain added: “Credit to Ashford who have not won away from home this season, they came down with a strong side and despite the scoreline put in a strong performance and never gave up.

“I would like to wish them all the best for the rest of the season.”
