PULBOROUGH RFC braved the wintery weekend conditions to see off bottom of the table Chichester III 36-8 at Freelands.

The match was one of very few sporting fixtures in the county to take place on Saturday, and Boro’s bonus-point home win sees them return to the top of Sussex 1, with no other games in the division going ahead.

It marks a welcome return to winning ways after three straight defeats - two in the league and one in the cup - and puts the club back on course to challenge for the title.
