Better late then never again for Horsham

Horsham recovered from a sluggish start to claim a bonus point win over Park House and stay in touch with the early London 3 SE pacesetters.
Again it was far from convincing in conditions not conducive to fluent rugby, but three tries in the final 20 minutes saw the hosts run out comfortable victors against the strugglers.
Park House started well and scored an early catch and drive try which was well converted for a 7-0 lead.
It took Horsham until midway through the half to really get going, but when they did sustained pressure and dominance in the scrums saw two Park players in the sin bin. Horsham continued to opt for the scrum rather than kick the points, and they were rewarded when Mark Brandon sniped through the blind side to score Horsham first try which he duly converted for a 7-7 half time score.
Despite continuing to dominate the scrum they huffed and puffed until, with 65 minutes gone a fine team try was finished off by Rob Clegg, Brandon again converting.
Two minutes later and Horsham were in again, Neal Holden outstripping the Park winger and from his break Scott Price offloaded for Ryan Grover to go over.
With the game won and the Park House resistance broken, Horsham added the bonus point with a fourth try soon after.
This time Jonny Ordidge broke the line before Rob Grantham-Hill took up the charge, slipping the ball back inside for Will Bell to get on the scoresheet as Horsham ran out 24-7 winners.
It was Horsham’s fourth win in six league games, and the five points puts them three off second place and four points from leaders Sheppey, who suffered their first defeat to Tunbridge Wells. This Saturday Horsham go to Folkestone, a ground they’ve not won on for a while.
