A late goal denied Storrington a point away at Rustington on Saturday.
Swans made a strong start to the match, pinning their hosts in their own half and creating a few half chances, and they got the break when Joe Warner, on his debut after signing from Arundel, beat the Rustington left back and delivered a great cross for Liam Humphreys to head home after 12 minutes.
Swans kept up their pressure without adding to their tally and the hosts began to come back into the game as the half ended. Both teams had struggled to keep the ball for the final 20 minutes of the first half, and while this pattern continued for Storrington, the hosts improved, showing greater hunger and desire and scoring two goals through striker Steve Kirkham, the winner coming in the 83rd minute.
It leaves Swans third from bottom without a win in five league games and boss Nigel Dyer said: “The positives to come out of the game was Joe Warner having a good debut and Sam Elliott had a good game. Overall we are a lot better team then we showed, in the second half especially.”
