Play it again Sam

HORSHAM captain Alan Law has called on youngster Sam Attfield to build on his maiden first team century on Saturday.

The 21-year-old right hander virtually won the league match at Lewes Priory single handedly with 102 not out from 119 balls as a depleted Horsham chased a first innings total of 238-8.

Attfield hit three consecutive boundaries with as many overs remaining to swing the match in Horsham's favour, and Law wants more of the same for the remainder of the season.

He said: "I'm thrilled with his, he's been threatening to do that all season and has looked like the best amateur player by a country mile.

"He's been getting runs for his uni side so it's been frustrating to see him getting the scores he has – hopefully now he's got off the mark he can really push on. I will be looking for a positive reaction."

The three wicket win moves Horsham up three places in the Sussex Premier to seventh.
