Silver for Horsham’s cross country masters

ALI GORMLEY, Val Purnell and Janine Littler teamed up to win silver at the Sussex County Masters Cross Country Championship.

The Horsham Joggers members took female Team Silver in the Vet 35 age group, over four miles of testing downland course at Lancing on Saturday. In the men’s age categories, Dean Angell, Pete O’Connell and Steve Wilson all earned top ten finishes on an even more challenging 5.4 mile course.

Horsham Joggers’ times: (female) Ali Gormley 30min 08 sec, 10th place; Janine Littler 31m 03s, 13th place; Val Purnell 31m, 57s, 15th place; (male) Dean Angell 34min 41s, ninth place Vet 40; Pete O’Connell 36m 16s, seventh place Vet 50; Jeff Colenso 41m 12s, 36th place Vet 40; Alan Pettitt 42m 27s, 31st place Vet 50; Steve Wilson 42m 28s, tenth place Vet60.
