Horsham golfer Luke Bennett’s dream of becoming a tour pro was enhanced when a two-over-par 74 won him a place at the British Colleges Sport National Golf finals.

The Collyer’s Sixth Form College student qualified second of four boys who represent the southern region at Bath Golf Club in the finals of the competition open to further education college students aged between 16 and 19.

Luke, Mannings Heath’s junior captain, currently plays off four and has already enjoyed a successful year in county events to claim the 2012 Sussex Under-18 Order of Merit title.

He said: “My plan for next year is to get a scholarship in America to study and follow my dream of becoming a touring professional.

“Getting a sponsor would enable me to get extra lessons and improve my game further.”

Any potential backers can contact Luke on 07749770854.
