Limeburners whitewash keeps them top

Limeburners produced the performance of the week in the Horsham & District Bar Billiards League as Tony Temple’s 5k score set them in their way to a whitewash of Black Dog

Wins for Mick Johnson and Darrell Skinner wrapped up the result by the third game, before Ding Johnson and Chip Sawyer completed the rout.

Defending champions Roffey Club Y are back in second place after Dick Cable, James Rourke, lee Cable and Mick Fairs guided them to a 4-1 defeat of Windmill, for whom Mark Gasson took the last.

Dun Horse A edged past Mill House in a 3-2 win, Richard Spurrier produced a classy 7.5k score in the final leg to settle the match.

Holbrook’s troubles continued with a seventh straight defeat, as Stout House A recovered from losing the first leg to Stuart Curruthers with wins for Gordon Carver, Glyn Owen, John Tidy and Vic Razzell.

Plough are hanging on to Limburners’ coat-tails in Division 2, thanks to their defeat of Southwater SC. Jeff Raine, Mark Webber, Keith Potter and Ollie Wilkins traded points until Kieran Budd took a nail-biting final leg for a 3-2 victory

And Dun Horse B sit top of Division 1 this week, coming from behind to beat Windmill B 3-2. Dave Lennon put the mill in front, but Peter Edwards, and Jim Greensted put the Horse in front, before Steve Eely ensured it went to a deciding leg. And Lorraine Hall held her nerve to beat Barry Dumbrill.
