Horsham hockey club toast indoor promotion

HORSHAM Hockey Club’s ladies first XI has achieved an unprecedented promotion to Division 1 of the Maxifuels Supersixes indoor competition.

After winning Division 2 south earlier this month, Horsham romped to promotion by topping the play-off group, going unbeaten along the way. Horsham beat Whitley bay 6-1; St Albans 2-1; Army Ladies 4-2; Holcombe 8-5 and Surbiton, who finished in the second promotion spot, 2-0.

Coach Warren Gilmour commented: “I think it’s fantastic for the club. We are a national league team indoors and outdoors. It was a great team performance and everyone contributed.”
