Horsham swimmers face Premier League play-off

Atlantis Swimming Club face a swim-off if they are to preserve their Premier National Arena Swimming League status.

The only Sussex-based swimming club in the League has seen Atlantis’ swimmers come up against Olympic swimmers, the pick of the south east and in some cases the best swimmers in the UK. In the first gala last month at the pavilions in Horsham, Atlantis finished fifth, before a sixth place finish in the second gala.

The six clubs at the bottom of the league (City of Canterbury, Bromley, Staines A, Atlantis, Basingstoke Bluefins A and Wycombe) will compete against each other at the final gala on December 8, with the top two staying in The Premier League.

Head coach Bill Penney said: “We fought really hard to get into this league, and we are going to have to fight even harder to stay in it.”
