Historic first match at Billingshurst LTC

Billingshurst ladies third team

Billingshurst ladies third team

Billingshurst Lawn Tennis Club witnessed history this weekend when a ladies’ third team turned out to compete in the Sussex League for the first time.

The club, in Station Road, previously fielded just two ladies’ teams, with three representing the men’s section. The team (pictured above), consisting of Shirley Cook and Laura Crow, and Angela Gisby partnered with Joanna Moyers, took on Wickwoods Ladies IV and held them to a draw.

The Club’s Ladies and Men’s teams have enjoyed great successes in the LTA Tennis Sussex summer and winter Leagues in recent years . The growing membership means that now more players than ever can get involved in matches. For more information about the club, visit their website at www.billingshursttennisclub.com or call 01403 783430.
