Champions Roffey back in top spot

Defending Horsham District bar Billiards League champions Roffey Club Y took advantage of Mill House’s week off to take top spot in Division 1.

At The Plough, Mick Fairs led the way with his 12,610, while Gareth Lloyd added a 8,100 as Roffey ran out 3-2 winners.

Elsewhere, The Dun Horse derby went all the way as the A side emerged with bragging rights. Peter Edwards controlled the first leg before Roy Wells squared it up. A dazzling 11,180 from Jim Greensted swung the momentum back to the As and although Ian Giffen beat Rob Hall to level, a 6k score from Richard Spurrier sealed the win.

Stout House BB did not look back after going in front against Black Dog. Rick Langridge’s break was followed by Ricky Dewdney’s 7.5K. The Dog’s Dave Evans hit 6K, before Alan Downs took out captain Adam. Dick Dewdney beat Darrell Skinner in the fifth.

In Division 2, Limeburners stay top thanks to their 3-2 defeat of the Holbrook Club. A good win from Tony Temple set the tone but Steve Hopkins’ win over Steve Holden put Holbrook ahead. Two steady games from Mick Johnson and Chip Sawyer put the match to bed though. Stout House whitewashed Windmill A to go third in the table, Dave Howlett beat Rob David, while John Tidy took the third leg against Tommy Howell. Southwater’s came form behind against Windmill B, as Ollie Wilkins and Jeff Raine levelled the scores and Tom Darkins took the decider.
