CHRIS Nash says he is in 'dreamland' following an unbeaten 81 on his home ground at Horsham which has put Sussex well in control against Derbyshire after Day 1 of their County Championship Div two contest.

Nash's unbeaten 170 opening stand with Ed Joyce (69 not out) has Sussex well on top as they look to chase the bottom side's first innings total of 241 all out.

The right hander though has never managed a century at Cricketfield Road for his county and having come agonizingly close last year he is taking nothing for granted.

He said: "80 is dreamland for me and it's good for us that we're only 70 runs short of them already.

"We're in good shape and couldn't really of asked for a better day.

"I got 87 last year so I've got a bit of a score to settle, getting a century would be a dream but you can't look too far ahead.

"We'll look to be up near their target without losing a wicket, if we bat like we did today we'll be looking at a heafty total.

"We bowled really well, to get them six down before lunch meant they were never going to get a big total despite their 100 partnership so we're very happy."
