A stunning final hole chip-in won the Exclusive Plate competition for West Chiltington in dramatic style last week.
Playing against West Hove in the final at Mannings Heath, Richard Burden conjured some some magic on the 18th green to clinch a crucial half point.
First pair Chris Dowrick and Tim Jackson set Chilt on their way with a comfortable defeat of their West Hove counterparts, but when second pair Greg Martin and Martin Ormrod - who had played a crucial role in Chilt reaching the final - went down by six holes, the scores were tied over all.
Third pair Terry Searle and debutant Paul Dudman gelled superbly though, they stormed into a five up lead and held off a Hove fightback. So, with all three results still possible it came down to the final match on the course. Burden and Tom Proudfoot were a hole behind as they truidged up the 18th - but when Burdeon sank his chip and the West Hove birdie chance slid by, the vital half was enough to seal overall victory.
