A strong second half performance helped Horsham Ladies to an important victory over Old Loughtonians on Saturday.
A spectacular goal from Emma Whipps saw hosts Horsham overcome the worst possible start after conceding in the opening minutes.
And having got back level by half-time, goals from Suzy Clapp, Lauren Keefe and Steph Dent saw the ladies run out 4-2 winners.
Looking to put their defeat at Harleston Magpies the week before behind them, Horsham made a slow start at were 1-0 down after just two minutes.
They soon began to string some fine passes together and came back with a spectacular goal from defender Emma Whipps from a short corner, and it remained 1-1 up until half-time.
Coach Ben Allberry gave a good team talk to the girls and they came out looking the better side, scoring another three goals through Clapp, Keefe and Dent to the home crowd’s delight.
This was an important win for the Ladies, who are now are back in sixth place.
Still it’s all to play for and Horsham need to keep focused on winning more points in the next four games.
This weekend they are away to top of the league Holcombe.
